However, the comedy has plenty of moments that’ll bring you to the edge of your seat. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the plot, so you’ll understand what we’re talking about. You should know that there will be some spoilers ahead.
Win It All Netflix Review – Trailer and Plot Summary
The Win It All movie plot begins with Eddie Garrett (Jake Swanson), a compulsive gambler who works at a parking lot to fund his passion for gambling. Eddie Garret is the type of guy who will go out for the night just to lose his money. He often claims that he’s not addicted to gambling but rather to losing. One day, Eddie wakes up to find Michael (José Antonio García), a local thug, sitting in his kitchen with a bag.
Michael quickly explains that he’s going to prison for a while and that Eddie should take care of his mysterious duffel bag while he’s gone. However, the thug has one condition for the main character: not opening the bag or asking questions about it. Michael also promises that when he returns, he’ll give Eddie $10,000 as a reward. A few days later, Eddie gives in to his temptation and opens the bag just to find a much larger sum than the one he was promised.
Eddie Garrett decides to start gambling with cash from the bag. After winning some money, the main character invites all his friends to a bar, where he meets Eva (Aislinn Derbez), a beautiful nurse, and he plans to see her again. However, Eddie decides to continue his gambling adventure and goes on a streak of losses, owing to the bag over $20,000. The main character goes to his friend Gene (Keegan-Michael Key) for help. Eddie begins gambling addiction counselling and starts working at a bar that’s owned by his brother, Ron (Joe Lo Truglio).
Eddie has calculated that if he works for six months, he’ll be able to repay his debt to the bag before Michael comes out of jail. However, after a few weeks of saving cash and getting closer with Eva, the main character receives a call from the thug who says that he’ll be released in a week. Desperate for cash, Eddie asks his brother Ron for a loan, but he refuses because he thinks that the main character will use it for gambling.
At this moment, Eddie Garrett knows he’s in deep trouble. Desperate, the main character decides to go to a casino and try to win some bucks, but he gets drunk and loses even more money from the bag. After hitting rock bottom, Eddie asks his friend Gene to help him get into a high-stakes poker game. The main character says that if he loses, he’ll just leave the town for good. Later, Gene manages to get Eddie into the high-stakes game, and the main character buys in for $15,000.
However, after losing nearly $30,000, Eddie Garrett decides to put the rest of the money from the bag into the game. After playing for a while and winning enough to pay his debt, Eddie wants to continue playing despite Gene’s advice to go home. However, the stress and the panic get the best of the main character as he collapses on the floor due to a heart attack. In order to avoid the most prominent spoiler in the movie, we’d like to spare you the ending, as it’s incredibly unexpected.
