What Is FraudForce?

FraudForce technology is a specialised software programmed to prevent frauds. It functions using real-time fraud detection analytics, which helps prevent fraud while it is happening and detect already on-going fraudulent activities. The uniqueness of Iovation’s technology comes from the fact that it does not focus on the user but on the device. This way operators will be able to make real-time, automated decisions on any device that may pose a potential risk. FraudForce continuously monitors millions of transactions all around the globe and looks for device, transaction and account patterns that may indicate fraudulent behaviour. Iovation’s innovative technology also uses a special methodology called “Privacy by Design” to ensure compliance with global privacy laws, including the European Union’s new General Data Protection Regulation. FraudForce employs data minimisation technique and avoids identifying any personal data directly. This way the software is able to protect the businesses and their clients without violating any privacy regulations.

FraudForce Technology Available at All Playtech Casinos

On December 7, 2018, Playtech officially announced its strategic partnership with the leading software company Iovation. According to the agreement between the two parties, Iovation will bring its industry-leading FraudForce technology to Playtech casinos. The technology will be made available through the Playtech Open Platform (POP), which will facilitate its integration of third-party operators using Playtech platforms. All Playtech casinos will be provided with the unique opportunity to effectively prevents thousands of fraudulent attacks every day. According to the official statement of Shimon Akad, Chief Operating Officer, Playtech:

“Everyone at Playtech is delighted to be working with Iovation to bring FraudForce to our licensees. IMS is already the most comprehensive player management platform in the industry, but with the Playtech Open Platform, we can enhance its capabilities even further. We are passionate about equipping our operators with world-class fraud prevention tools, and our partnership with Iovation is a key part of our strategy to deliver this. FraudForce is a powerful weapon in the war on cybercrime in online gambling, with its integration into IMS providing a seamless boost to the arsenal of our licensees.”

The deal between Playtech and Iovation is a part of a number of strategically planned agreements with third parties, designed to expand the company’s toolset. This, however, is not Playtech’s first attempt to fight online fraud. We remind you that in February 2018, the company developed its own smart fraud detection system. In contrast to FraudForce, however, Playtech’s technology tried to prevent fraud by focusing on unwanted player behaviour. Furthermore, Playtech’s original programme calculated and recognised patterns identified as irregular gameplay. The company indubitably has a long history of battling potential online frauds. We remind you that many popular UK casinos such as Winner, Casino.com and William Hill currently operate on Playtech platforms and many players will benefit from the improved security measures taken by the software company.
